Spring Break Article

Ole Miss students have been hitting the tanning beds and booths to get a golden glow before they have to expose their bathing suit bodies next week during spring break.

Several girls have taken multiple trips to one of Oxford’s tanning salons, some even resorting to fake tans.

In attempt to speed up the tanning process, girls have taken frequent trips to the tanning bed with hopes to avoid burning during the first couple days on the beach.

“I usually get fried during the first two days in the sun, so I figured I would get that step out of the way and prepare my skin for laying out all day,” Bailey Doctor said.

A couple of Ole Miss cheerleaders have been employed by a local tanning company to sell portable spray tan kits to girls living in the dorms.

Freshman Natalie Kroneman purchased one of the “do-it yourself” portable spray tan kits in hopes to speed up her pre-spring break tanning process.

“My friends and I want to be super black come spring break, so we all pitched in to buy this easy and effective tanning package,” Natalie said.

Girls have exactly one week left to soak up the rays and get as brown as they can before they celebrate the mid-semester at spring break 2011.
